The Courtyard is an informal space where community organizations, non-profit groups, schools and churches are welcome to put up a canopy with table and chairs to let the community know about your programs and activities. You may distribute literature, give away hand-outs, have videos, banners and other displays, or provide an activity.

You are invited to have a booth at the 50th Annual Watermelon Festival in Our Community Courtyard.
As we grow to include many visitors from outside our own community, we have an opportunity to let the rest of Southern California get a glimpse of the best of Sunland-Tujunga through the Courtyard. Participants in the Courtyard are asked to pay a minimal fee to help us cover our expenses. If you need electricity, a 20 amp box will be provided by the Festival. You will need to provide your own booth or canopy, tables, chairs, lights, electrical cords, and plugs. We would suggest you bring some type of floor covering as the area may be dusty this late in the summer.
Most of the spaces in the Courtyard will be under the trees where there is no grass. You may set up on Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. or Friday before 4 p.m. All vehicles must be off the Festival grounds one hour before the posted opening time of 5 p.m. Friday or noon on Saturday and Sunday.
If you come in later, you will need to hand carry your equipment and supplies into the park. There will be vehicle access to the space after the Festival closes each night, the Festival grounds are clear of customers and the Fire Marshall gives the OK. You may not drive onto the Festival grounds during the hours it is open for business. A nearby parking lot will be reserved for participants to allow access to the Festival.
The STLC strongly encourages you to use a watermelon theme in your decorations, activities & handouts. There will be professional security on site 24/7, but the Sunland-Tujunga Lions Club, Sunland Park, Kemsley Shows, and/or the security personnel are not responsible for loss or theft from your booth or vehicle.
Please download and return application form by August 10 to reserve your space. You may pay for your space and electricity with your application or bring it with you when you check in. Registration will be faster if your are prepaid. We invite you to join with us in making this year’s Festival the best one ever! We are looking forward to your participation!
